Blooming Mima is a blog dedicated to natural and holistic living through the eyes of a little crunchy, not so perfect mom that tries to follow her convictions of living a more natural lifestyle while teaching my son the same values and helping others find healthier alternatives along the way.

Why Blooming Mima?

Blooming Mima represents new beginnings, transformation, and birth.  The lotus flower is considered a symbol for enlightenment, purity and rebirth. The word Mima embodies nurturing and mothering.

When I first learned I was pregnant with my first child I became deeply enthralled in pregnancy, childbirth and on becoming a mother.  I started my journey with the regular mainstream books and magazines promoted and the more I read the more dissatisfied I was.  I felt like mainstream publications were very partial in the topics they chose to cover; what was actually covered left me dissatisfied and looking for better solutions.  After much research I turned to the more natural, holistic publications and gained the perspective I was looking for. I instinctively was able to form my own opinions and make my own personal choices.

Through my journey I somehow became the go to person for my friends and friends of friends that were looking for answers and wanting to follow a more natural and holistic approach to motherhood.  Today I share my insight with you!

My intention for this blog is for it to be used as a source of information; a place to share my recipes and garden adventures, and a place where you can find resources and links to website and books that will make it easier for you to make informed decisions.

This blog caters to anyone looking to make positive changes in their lives through food and personal lifestyle choices.

Enjoy your journey through Blooming Mima!
